Are you Creative ?
Creative thinking is a difficult skill to master. Creative thinking is commonly seen as a soft skill. Learning creativity, on the other hand, requires both hard and soft skills. Because they are teachable and measurable, I consider creative methods to be hard skills. Creative thinking approaches are mental processes that help people come up with creative solutions to issues. "Blending ideas" is an example of a creative approach. You take two existing things and blend them into a new idea.
Gutenberg combined the notion of printing with movable letters and the technology of a wine press when he created the printing press. Combining two previously unconnected concepts is a method of systematically seeking new ideas. In an advertisement, the confectionery company Reese's used that picture to "explain" the development of peanut butter cups - two individuals crashing into each other, one with chocolate and the other with peanut butter. Blending is only one of several creative approaches; they are all similar in that they provide a method for creating new ideas in a methodical way.
From this cognitive perspective, several publications on the market provide creative strategies. The image on the right depicts a number of well-known books on creativity approaches. They teach lateral thinking methods and improve problem-solving creativity. The capacity to come up with fresh ideas can be improved by practising such approaches and improving lateral thinking abilities. While studying creative techniques might be beneficial, it is not necessary to do so in order to generate breakthrough ideas. Breakthrough innovations, on the other hand, are impossible to achieve unless the soft skill side of creativity has been absorbed.
Creative thinking can be thought of as a soft talent. In this context, creative thinking refers to a set of personality characteristics, actions, and ways of thinking. Curiosity, for example, is one of the most important generators of creativity. A trigger, a spark, elicits wild, undirected inquiry. This pique is similar to the first scent a hunting hound picks up, something that sends them starting on the right trail. We are emotionally gripped by the curiosity-driven journey, which takes us through troughs of failure and mountains of excitement. While employing and integrating our cognitive talents is important, it is only one element of the trip that also requires bravery, openness, and endurance.
However, breakthrough thinking needs more than simply creativity skills, just as Luke Skywalker's mastery of the lightsaber is insufficient. The tenacity of a Jedi is required while embarking on a quest to find fresh creative ideas. Leaving the well-worn road and venturing into unknown territory requires courage and daring. To recover from setbacks and disappointments, you'll need grit and determination. It also needs humility and compassion to come up with significant ideas.
Studying the soft skills of creative thinking, such as developing a creative attitude, is a less structured process than learning creative techniques. It might be difficult to find the challenge that we need to grow unless we have a master like Yoda to educate us. I have found that one of the most effective methods to build creative thinking skills is via art. Leonardo Da Vinci and Albert Einstein are two well-known examples of how a lifetime of artistic practice may lead to groundbreaking innovations and ideas. Art encourages us to use our imaginations, cultivates self-control, and improves our intellectual independence.
